While here I was expecting to get with the program of September being here meaning time to buckle down and get back to real work I have been asked by my mom to join her on a trip to Paradise Island, Bahamas. Who am I to say no? So, off I go tomorrow for some nice R&R. Actually, after the year that we have had I really feel this trip is needed. But, this time it won’t be with my wonderful husband.
When I was in my late teens, my mom and I used to make once a year long weekend trips together .. just the 2 of us. They were always so much fun and special. The last time we had time alone together was visiting Vienna, Austria, her birthplace, about 9 years ago. That is when I had my first delicious Gruner Veltliner, a wine that is one of the most versatile white wines around. Doubtful I will find any in the Bahamas. But, there is a restaurant that I have wanted to get to in the past but my dad, (may he rest in peace) never wanted to splurge. It’s part of the Graycliff estate, a 260 year old British Colonial inn. The wine cellar there is well-known with supposedly over 250,000 bottles of wine from all around the world including some of the world’s oldest vintages of Chateau Lafite and Petrus among others.  If we do make it there, it will most likely be a long day or night of exploration for me.
By the way, I will have my laptop with me and will attempt to keep posting while there so check back each day.
And, for all our Jewish friends.. a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR
Cheers,

September 14   Time to Teach Again

The summer is gone, it’s mid September and I am ready to start teaching again. While I have had a tough time finding the right venue for my wine classes, I am feeling really good that a place will be secured in the next couple of weeks. If all goes as planned, classes will again be on Monday evening from 7:30-9:00PM for 6 weeks and would start some time in October. If you are interested or know anyone interested please contact me at info@allidoiswine.com
Briefly, Zita Keeley’s Wine School is a 6 week wine appreciation course teaching how to taste, the winemaking process, old world vs. new world, how to buy, store and serve wine, ordering in restaurants, wine glass comparisons and food and wine pairing information and of-course, we will be tasting wine in every class! It’s fun, imformative and definitely enjoyable.
Cheers,
